Board game lock down

As we enter our 5th week of lock down I think we may need some new board games to play.

Today it was Monopoly in the Sketcher household and recently we have been playing lots of board games. Snakes and ladders, drafts and ludo have been battled over this week.

I do love a family board game and its nice for us all to spend some time together without looking at a screen.

I may need some more to get us through the lock down. What’s your favourite family board game?

This sketch was drawn with a brush and ink which is why it is a little darker than usual, a tricky medium but one I will persevere with 🙂

Porridge & Play at North Edinburgh Arts with Licketyspit

NEA_PorridgePlay

Last Saturday I and the Sketcher clan attended Licketyspit’s Porridge and Play session at North Edinburgh Arts.

Here we see the children balancing in the garden as parents sing songs in the sunshine. Porridge & Play is Licketyspit Theatre Company’s free, fun drama-led play/group games session for North Edinburgh children aged 3-8 years and their parents/carers (older brothers and sisters are also welcome).

Sessions are led by Licketyspit in the superb North Edinburgh Arts, with a large landscaped garden and indoor seating area there is plenty of room for the kids to get some porridge and have a play in a relaxed atmosphere.

Its a great chance for parents to have a chat too, while the children play together, or eat porridge! As soon as we arrived name tags were stuck to our chest which helped break the ice whilst (the very good) coffee was being poured. Later both children and parents played games and enjoyed the outdoor space at NEA.

Summer Porridge and Play will run each Saturday up to and including the 1st August at 10am. So pop along and let the kids fill up on porridge and play this Saturday!
