Evening everyone, I hope you have had a relaxing weekend. Two days off just isn’t enough. I love the time during the week to get things done when the kids are at school and Joanne is working but really I would love a swap around the week with two days apart and five off all together. Although we may kill each other after a while!
This week we spent a day in the borders finding the snow and having lots of laughs. We threw snowballs, built snow people and even tried sledging on a bin bag - it didn’t work but was all we had on the day and the trying was fun.
And the light shining on the Pentland hills was so beautiful. Inspiring these watercolour sketches once I was back in the warmth.
Did you head to the hills to find some snow to play with? I don’t mind the snow being a rare occurrence in the city, it makes it all the more special when we do wake to a dusting. Especially when we have the hills to the south less than an hour away.
I drew these two between commissions, it is always nice to sketch something for myself either as a warm up in the morning or when watching the telly in the evening.
I had meant to sketch another snow scene to go along side these two and hopefully I will get chance to do that this week coming. As I got slightly distracted using my spare sketching time to draw Misty sleeping on our new bed throw below.
That’s all folks
Just a quick hello today but have a lovely week. I have news about a new workshop at Kellie Castle along with bookable dates to come soon so look out for that, it is a wonderful location in Fife so I am very excited about those.
And don’t forget I will have a new WhereArtI tomorrow morning, a sketch of the city for you to locate with one correct answer being picked to receive some of my gift cards. Mark, ES
I live in Hull and so far the only snow we've had is a light dusting which had gone by lunchtime.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your paintings with us. Nearest I'm getting to snow this winter.
