The FringeShip has docked

A 1300 bed floating hotel and fringe venue has arrived in Leith

In the past few days a huge cruise liner has docked by Ocean Terminal. The 1300 people carrying cruise liner from Playbill Travel will host many of Edinburgh’s fringe acts on board in its 500 seater theatre.

I couldn’t help noticing it in between Ocean Terminal and Chancellot Mill yesterday and so went to the top of the OT carpark to sketch this one.

Visitors to Edinburgh can book to stay on the floating hotel until the 15th August and enjoy lots on board plus shuttle buses to the city centre to soak up the Edinburgh Fringe atmosphere.

I knew the ship was on it’s way as I was asked to create a map for the visiting guests highlighting the shops, bars and eateries Leith has to offer, as well as featuring a couple of my local watercolour sketches.
