Strength and storytelling at the circus
Australia-based contemporary circus company Casus Creations brings their stage show Apricity to the George Square
Apricity means the warmth of the winter sun and this idea inspires this mesmerising acrobatic show currently on at the Spiegeltent Palais du Variété each afternoon. Great strength and nerve are on show as this small dance group from Australia tell a story of warm light emerging from the dark.
The lighting was soft and minimal keeping focus on the main character and leading my eye through the tale being told. I really enjoyed the show by circus company Casus Creations and drew the above sketch half before and half right after as the colours especially stayed with me.
