This week I enjoyed taking a class sketching through the New Town and along to Circus Lane, the most instagrammed street in Edinburgh, probably.
We started off at the Arienas Collective base in Dublin Meuse, a beautiful homely space which is just perfect for inspiring creativity in the many people who go there to take part in an arty workshop. A number of talents Edinburgh creatives use the space to run sessions from print making to macrame and you can find out more about all the wonderful classes available at their website HERE.
After a little indoor work getting used to using the pens and water brushes with a couple of perspective exercises we headed out and along the cobbled streets drawing iconic Edinburgh street furniture.
I always get into my drawing and sometimes the 2.5 hour class isn’t long enough, especially on such a sunny day, we all agreed we could have stayed out drawing for another couple of hours.
I will be back in Circus Lane in September but next month we will be heading along to Scotland Street and King George V Park so if you would like to join us tickets are £30 each or as it is a great way to spend a couple of hours with a friend I have a 2 for £50 deal this year. All materials needed are included and all abilities welcome.
