Capturing your special day in ink and watercolour
As a wedding sketcher I attend the event and move around in the background drawing the details which catch my eye, like the flower arrangements, personal decorations, architectural details and colourful outfits!
Soon I have a sketch book full of pen and watercolour drawings which seem to hold a memory of the day, the atmosphere and feeling of a truly special occasion.
Key locations or events to sketch during the day can be discussed before hand but I always like to draw the ceremony and venue exterior. Also the bouquet is a personal favourite, I think because my Mum is a florist and I know the care and skill that goes into something made for that exact and fleeting moment. It’s nice to hold that moment forever in my watercolours.
Above are a few of my sketches and also a couple of my favour sketches where I sketch guests during the reception which is always great fun and creates unique and personal keepsakes.
