Monday morning speeding around once again, and with it a brand new WhereArtI to test your observational skills. Can you name this Edinburgh building?
There are leader board points on offer for the first three correct answers, and keep an eye on the facebook and twitter throughout the day for clues if they are needed. Answers to come later in the week.
If you would like to donate a prize for the quiz or indeed feature in the quiz, then get in touch HERE.
Also remember to buy a copy of the Edinburgh Evening News and play along in the print version of WhereArtI too. You could win a crate of beer!
Valentino Rossi, one of the most successful motorcycle racers of all time is the subject of this recent EdinburghSketcher commission.
Good morning. Last night I showed you a close up of this sketch and asked if you knew who it was. Here is the full version. I love the cross-hatch shading, I find it very therapeutic and relaxing. I used ot doodle a lot and shade shapes, a cube, pyramid and sphere. I never knew the practice would one day make me a few quid 🙂
If you would like a commission created then prices start at just £48, drop me an email for more information email@example.com
The sketch is in black ink with a water colour wash. The black only version is seen below, I can’t decide which I prefer.

Here’s today’s sketch and the pen who helped draw it; a grey fineliner I purchased from paperchase yesterday.
I was waiting for the bus, which I am now heading into town on, when I noticed the school street sign. I like the lights underneath, all the intricate lines that go to make up the object.
With my bike still in need of repair I travelled to work on the @on_lothian number 8 bus this morning. I hope to take the bike into Bicycle Works this weekend, thanks @cocteautriplets for the recommendation.
With journey time on my hands I was looking round for something to sketch, and decided upon a couple of tickets I found in my pocket. By the time I looked up again the bus was just reaching the top of Broughton Street. Sketch done.
Enjoy your Friday everyone. 🙂
Looking down on my slightly sick Gerbera plant. I think it needs a little water. I thought the sketch need a little colour.
This is Zoe, 11 weeks old on Wednesday and how it’s flown by. Here she is havin a doze on my knee between feeds, and nappy changes!
A trip along to the Grassmarket today and this pen and pencil sketch from one of the benches.
The tours have started and I could hear a group being told all about the gruesome hangings that used to be the main attraction on the cobbles here.
My puddycat Mocha, curled up on her cushion. It’s a hard life being a cat, she’s been snoozin all day and only got up to tell us to feed her!
