If so click the link below to enter your answer. I will pick a random winner from all correct answers on Tuesday morning, and they will go on to the ‘Winners wall’. At the end of the month those on the wall will be entered into a draw to receive a prize.

The prize for September is one of my Edinburgh mugs. The winner will get to choose one of my three designs which feature my illustrations of Scotland’s beautiful capital city.

I am somewhere in Edinburgh, if you know or want to guess click the link below to enter your answer. I will pick a random winner from all correct answers on Tuesday morning, and they will go on to the ‘WhereArtI wall’. The prize for August is a pair of tickets to this years Oktoberfest, which is held in Princes Street Gardens West from the 5th to 9th October. I have a pair of tickets for Sunday 9th October to giveaway, and each includes complementary food and drink and seat reservation for the party.

Painting Portobello in April showers

PortobelloBeach_noprintToday I visited Portobello promenade, a great place to take a stroll along the seaside and feel the sand under your feet.

Unsettled is a good word for the weather, glorious sunshine against dark skies followed by brief showers of cold rain. I sketched from the beach between showers to create this piece which includes drops of rain and grains of sand.

This piece is drawn on 220gsm paper with black ink and watercolour. It measures 250x160mm and is this months never to be printed original sketch, for sale for £150 in a mount or £175 in a frame.
