Sunday fun and messing about with paint, with James who is now 3 years old.
Here is a scraper sketch of him I did along with our hand prints, his over the top of mine.
Great messy fun, both the twins love to find new ways to make a mark with the paint. And now the clear up begins!!
Evening all, here is a quick sketch from tonight’s dinner time. The twins had spaghetti and this pen drawing was scribbled whilst dodging tomato covered hands and flying clumps of pasta!
Today’s EdinburghSketcher motto: ‘Sketch whenever you can, with what ever you can and what or whoever you can.’
I grabbed five minutes today while the twins were munching down their breakfast to sketch them. Nearby wax crayons and the back of an envelope were my materials of choice.
And for breakfast? They had sliced bananas and rice crispies – yummy!
You take it for granted but for my two 16 month old twins it’s still a big achievement to be standing up, and one that James in particular quite rightly gives himself a clap for every time.
He is playing with some bricks at a chair in Hemma, a new Swedish bar and restaurant come coffee shop stroke gallery near the Parliament.
The place is quite new (it used to be The Tun) and it was my first visit, the food is very fresh and tasty, we had a smorgasbord of cheeses, mackerel, meatballs and salad together with warm crusty bread. Although I couldn’t have the bread being coeliac and my one gripe would be there was no gluten free alternative.
Very child friendly there are plenty of highchairs and in the corner a trunk of toys, crayons and books for toddlers to play with.
We’ll definitely be back, the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed, and the coffee nice and strong. Click HERE to see their website.
The sketch is just pencil in a notepad. Keeping it simple.
What a beautiful sunny day in Edinburgh, or at least it looks that way from our hospital room in the Sick Kids Children’s Hospital. My wee man James has an infection so we were in overnight to keep an eye on him.
He’s happy enough this morning, wanting his breakfast so I best go. Enjoy the sunshine Edinburgers!
Breakfast time at the Sketcher household and today it’s mashed banana’s on toast for James and Zoe. A favourite with the twins and it wasn’t long before it was all eaten up!
What a lovely morning it is in Granton today, enjoy your weekend everyone, and your breakfast!
The end of a busy weekend, the twins are just watching Wibaloo?? or something on the CBB channel and drinking their milk. A quick sketch is all I’ve had time for this weekend.
Soon they’ll be sleeping in bed, and the house will be quiet (tempting fate here aren’t I?) then Mum and Dad can relax!
Hello to all my new followers, I hope you like this illustration of my wee twins, James and Zoe.
They look like they belong in a childrens story book, I imagine big adventures ahead of them!
Have a great weekend everyone.
The morning seemed to fly by today: Babies wake up. Babies having a cuddle on the mat with a few toys. Babies seem happy, time for a quick sketch. Babies hungry, into their high chairs. Babies and dad having some porridge. Mum takes over and dad’s off to work. Phew!
After a hard but successful day in and out of theatre my boy James is enjoying some R&R time in his bouncer chair. All signs are looking good and we hope to have him back home with his sister soon.
