A new and very welcome addition to the studio is this mini cafetiere from Ikea.
Last week while picking up pens and pencils and cushion fillers from the big blue shop with yellow writing (Sketcher Twin 1’s description), I treated myself to a wee cafetiere and some of their medium roast coffee. And surprisingly good it is too.
I find the best way to speed around the town centre is on two wheels, so I loaded up the panniers and took the racer into Edinburgh. After climbing from the coast to George Street I needed a wee break, so I sat in the sunshine outside the coffee bar in St Andrews Square.
One Americano later and I had sketched this pen and watercolour drawing of my workhorse.
Ducking out of the torrential rain today I took refuge (and a delicious cup of coffee) at Cafe Truva on the royal Mile. This place is fast becoming my new coffee local, great beverages and views of the comings and goings on the busy High Street.
Although this afternoon the road was more a river as the heavens opened and thunder clapped above. I was caught without pad but undeterred I sketched my cuppa on today’s Edinburgh Evening News. The classified pages made a great doodle space 😉
I cycled from Canonmills up to the Mound yesterday, worth it for a cuppa at Cafe Musa though. The cafe on the Mound is soon to be home to a few ES sketches and cushions !
I sketched this wee one while I cought my breath 🙂
No time for location sketching today, I am using my lunch hour to catch up on some work.
Instead here is a previous doodle of what todays lunch consisted of 🙂
This coffee takaway at the top of Leith Walk, infront of St Mary’s RC Cathedral, is an old converted policebox, many of which are dotted around Edinburgh.
Perfectly positioned this small box would once of been home to policemen guarding the road up to Edinburgh’s East End. Now it supplies coffee to the city’s many workers.
