From my memory (as it’s a wee bit cold outside) this is how the moon looks tonight from Edinburgh. Or perhaps it’s the end of a tunnel, or a torch light? Answers on a postcard.
This is one of the Police Boxes originally installed throughout the UK in the 1920’s and 30’s. One of many in Edinburgh still standing intact this box is situated near Hunter’s Square on the Royal Mile. In the Festival time this box can often be seen surrounded by jugglers and street theatre, today however only a few brave folk wrapped up against the cold.
It’s that time of year again, we are still in January and already chocolate eggs are everywhere! This one isn’t going to last till Easter that’s for sure.
Mmmmmmmmm
Since no new sketches today I thought I would upload this photo Jo took of me drawing wee Zac, my nieces cocker spaniel, earlier in the week.
Have a good Monday folks!
A still life you could say, there’s certainly not much happening in the corner of my room. Oh the horse is an earlier sketch from Glasgow, but I like it up there.
Quite a dark damp morning as I passed round the back of Holyrood Abbey.
The ruined abbey is sited in the grounds of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, at the bottom of the Royal Mile, and was founded in 1128 by King David I of Scotland.
A view from the gallery, high above the pool at Portobello Swim Centre. A Victorian baths situated right on the promenade the building is full of character.
I admit the angle of this sketch is a little confusing though, perhaps I should of stood up!
Heading uphill to find sunshine above the rooftops of Edinburgh I turned to find this view of Canongate Kirk and it’s snowy graveyard. The strong sunshine catching Arthur’s seat in the background.
Anything is better than nothing after two days without sketching and here is a quick one looking around the corner of Arthur’s seat towards Dumbiedykes housing estate, with one of the many dogwalkers using the park before work.
Sketches, news and family life in Scotland's capital city.
