Thanks Silke, this is actually a cropped sketch of the whole of the shore. I’ve drawn it for client but will post it soon.
hello Mike, thank you that is great, I know the sketch you mean 😉
Thanks Fiona, great memories. The Clock cafe is still there I think but Pizza Express is now a Victor Hugo 🙂

This one’s easy; is the Shore at Bernard Street.
The Shore down in Leith. There used to be a sandwich shop in the building with the tower called The Clock across from the King’s Wark (such a good weekend breakfast in there!). The Leith Agency used to be next door and then Pizza Express. It’s been a while since I’ve down there 🙂
The shore – Leith?
You are at the Shore in Leith where Bernard Street emerges. Immediately to the left is the bridge across to Commercial St.
The Shore.
The Shore in Leith
The southern part of the Shore in Leith – just around the corner from my flat, which is in Water Street. We’ve got a framed copy of one of your earlier sketches of the Shore on our living room wall.
The clock is on the building at the corner of the Shore and Bernard Street.

The Shore, Leith. That’s The Clock cafe on the corner.
That’s The Shore in Leith, just where Bernard Street joins it.

The Shore, with the Kings Wark in the middle.
That is The Shore in Leith with King’s Wark in the centre and the Water of Leith basin in front. Beautiful.
