This is a lovely building I pass on the way out of town on the A702. The Hermitage Bar is on the corner of Cluny Gardens and Comiston Road. This week’s winner is Peter Barry, who wins the postcards.

I lived in this building for 18 happy years and entered from the Braid Road side. The building had originally been designed as a station hotel when Morningside was to be a main station in 1888. This did not happen and it was converted into flats with the British Linen Bank where the pub is now situated.

A landmark on the way to my girlfriend/wife’s family in the 1970’s.
