Can you tell me where I have sketched?
Do you recognise these city steps?
Leave your answer in the comment box below.
Your comment will not show up until I reveal the answer. Closing time for entering is midnight tonight and I will pick a random winner from all correct entries by this time tomorrow.
This week’s prize is a screen printed tea towel featuring the Edinburgh Skyline and Edinburgh Castle.
Keep an eye on my facebook and twitter feeds for clues if they are needed later today, and remember you can also see my weekly competition in the printed version of the Edinburgh Evening News each Monday.
Keep looking up and noticing the beauty in the everyday, you never know where I will be sketching next!
My Edinburgh sketched merchandise is available on my Etsy shop and although I am fully booked for Christmas commissions there are plenty of Edinburgh prints available.

That’s across the street of The Regent at Abbeymount, next to the Abbeymount Techbase. I used that path many times to go to work.
W Norton Place
Is this lynedoch place, near Dean Bridge?
These are the steps from W Norton Place to Montrose Terrace at Abbeymount.
Steps next to Century General going up to Montrose Terrace.
Tanfield at Canonmills
It looks like the end of W. Worton Place, and then the building in the corner should be the Regent Bar.
The steps leading up from west norton place to Montrose terrace.
Steps leading from London Road to Lower London Road at Sunnybank
It’s the steps that lead from West Norton Place to Montrose Terrace. They mark the route of the original Easter Road before the building of Regent Road in the 1820s. A very local short-cut for me!
You’re at the steps at West Norton Place, just round the corner from Century General Store!
Looks familiar as a shortcut to me, too! Is it the steps off Montrose Terrace going up to Abbey Mount 🤔? Not done this in years either 😂 (if it is).
Hope all well with you and your family, Mark. We’ll get through this ✊🏼🌈🎄Ali Xx
