WhereArtI Edinburgh?

Monday 10th August

Can you tell me where I have sketched?

Usually full of crowds at this time of year, do you still recognise this city location?

Leave your answer in the comment box below.

Your comment will not show up until I reveal the answer, and I will pick a random winner from all correct entries and they will go on to the ‘Winners wall’ for the month. At the end of the month one of those will be picked to receive a prize.

The prize for August is a screen printed tea towel featuring my Victoria Street illustration.

Keep an eye on my facebook and twitter feeds for clues if they are needed later today, and I will pick a winner for the Winners Wall before the end of the day.

Keep looking up and noticing the beauty in the everyday, you never know where I will be sketching next!

If you would like to buy an Edinburgh Sketcher tea towel you can find all 4 designs in my Etsy shop.

  1. Hi Lena
Congratulations, you have won the WhereArtI draw for this week with your answer of George Square. You will go into the monthly draw for a prize and I will be in touch at the end of the month if you have won.

All the best, and thanks for playing WhereArtI

  2. #WhereArtI Answer – Monday 10th August: Currently very empty, but beautiful flooded with afternoon sunshine, this is George Square, usually full of fringe show acts and tourists at this time of year of course. Lena van Dulmen has been picked to go into the August prize draw. Thanks all for playing, more next Monday :).

  3. In the 1970’s, that would be the Mountbatten building of the Heriot-Watt University in the Grassmarket.
I wonder if the restaurant on the top floor still serves the best pie chips and beans outside of the Chambers Street Museum.

  4. Hi there. This is George Sq by the garden exit to Assembly and the garden entrance to Underbelly. So sad for all things festival this year. 💔

  5. Hugh Robertson building, north side of George Square.
Ran past here (twice) in my last official race I did on 1st March – Meadows Marathon Festival – I did the half marathon.

  6. Lovely sketch. It’s the north side of George Square, the Crichton Street end looking across to Middle Meadow Walk and Quartermile. No food vans this year.
