A red box against New Town sandstone

This is one of the striking red phone boxes that stand in Edinburgh’s New Town.

I love the contrasting colours in this sketch which was made with a fine liner and a little watercolour wash.

I can’t remember the last time I used a phone box and wonder what they will be turned into in the future, perhaps mini coffee dispensers!

This sketch is of the corner of Great King Street and Dundas Street in the north of Edinburgh.
