Take a moment to take in the beautiful views across the city from this window in the City Art Centre stairwell.
I have been to the City Art Centre many times, to see new exhibitions as well as running my own sketching workshops and most recently with the kids to visit the Science Festival takeover there.
But whatever I am there to see I always stop in the stairwell and notice what beautiful light floods in through the arched window. Along with stunning views across the Waverley Station roof to The Balmoral Hotel I always think I must come back and sketch this space.
Well I finally did and here is the result, drawn in pen first I wanted to quickly capture those great lines. Then just a touch of watercolour brings the light and dark areas to life.
I definitely recommend a visit to the City Art Centre just for this view.
