WhereArtI 22nd October 2018

Can you name the Edinburgh location I have sketched?

If you know leave you answer in the comment box below. I will pick a random winner from all correct entries on Tuesday morning, and they will go on to the ‘Winners wall’ for the month. At the end of the month those on the wall will be entered into a draw to receive a prize.

The prize for October is one of my Edinburgh Mugs. Available in Victoria StreetLeith or Edinburgh Castle they are perfect for a Monday morning cuppa!

Your comment will not show up until the winner is announced. Keep an eye on my facebook and twitter feeds for clues if they are needed later today, and I will pick a winner for the Winners Wall tomorrow afternoon.

I hope you join us to play along and keep looking up and noticing the details in the everyday, you never know where I will be sketching next time!

Can’t wait?  Buy an ES mug right now online HERE. Also now available is an Easter Road version for Hibs fans…

  1. This is Morningside Road, opposite Newbattle Terrace. The last shop on the left hand side used to be a butcher’s shop owned by Mr Frank Rennie. in the late 1950s and early 60s, I used to deliver butcher meat in the local area before school on one of the old bikes with a small wheel and a basket in the front.

  2. That’s the junction of Newbattle Terrace and Morningside Road. I remember that seemingly relentless incline from years of morning commutes on the bike. Great fun on the way home, though! Keep up the great work, sketcher.

  3. Hi.

This is Dingwall Fabrics, The Gurkha Nepalese Restaurant and the Chinese Doctor on Morningside Road.

  4. It’s Morningside Rd from Newbattle Terrace. A view everyone who has spent an age waiting to escape that junction knows too well!

  5. Morningside Road from Newbattle Terrace! Stuck at this junction waiting to turn right after being at the Dominion.

  6. In the late 60’s and early 70’s there used to be a cinema in Newbattle Terrace that went by the name of “The Dominion”. If it is still there, then it looks like you have enjoyed a good film and are heading for the Gurkha Nepalese restaurant on Morningside Road for some nourishment.
