Can you name this Edinburgh location?

If you know click the link below to enter your answer. I will pick a random winner from all correct entries on Tuesday morning, and they will go on to the ‘Winners wall’ for the month. At the end of the month those on the wall will be entered into a draw to receive a prize.

The prize for September is one of my new Edinburgh Castle Totes, featuring one of my sketches of Edinburgh Castle in a circle design.

  1. This is on the Canongate, just down from the Truva Cafe.
By the look of it, you were sitting in Chessel’s Court or outside the Canon’s Gait Pub?

  2. Hi Mark.
    This is on Canongate.
And I expect you were sitting in the Canons Gait to do the sketch.

    Best wishes,

    Lizzie

  3. It’s next to Cafe Truva on Canongate, by the corner of New St you’d have been in or on the outside window ledge of the Canon’s Gait.

  4. The red door in your picture is the entry to the staircase behind the round windows for the apartments at 249 Canongate opposite the Canons’ Gait public House. 249 was once a public house on the corner with New Street.

I think you may be standing somewhere between the Canons’ Gait and the red door entry further down towards Holyrood. If you were sitting, then I trust you were in the corner by the window of the Canons’ Gait and not on a cold window sill.

  5. This is opposite the Canons’ Gait pub in the canongate on the royal mile so you were either sitting inside the pub at the window or just outside!?
