The trees are bare in Granton

TreeWinterAfter a day working in the garden I relaxed into a chair and looked up to see this beautiful view of bare branches from under our plum tree. Very October.

Like spring cleaning in March, October is the time for a final winter clean of the garden. Grass cut, hedge trimmed, bay tree re shaped, overgrown hyacinth hacked back, and leaves racked.

The Sketcher family spent a lovely afternoon busying our selves in the garden and when finally I collapsed into a chair I noticed this beautiful and very wintry view above my head. It is a Purple Leaf Plum tree, huge and unfortunately non fruiting 🙂

Drawn with a black finliner, 03mm it needs no colour.
