Hello to all my new followers, I hope you like this illustration of my wee twins, James and Zoe.
They look like they belong in a childrens story book, I imagine big adventures ahead of them!
Have a great weekend everyone.

The morning seemed to fly by today: Babies wake up. Babies having a cuddle on the mat with a few toys. Babies seem happy, time for a quick sketch. Babies hungry, into their high chairs. Babies and dad having some porridge. Mum takes over and dad’s off to work. Phew!
Another day and another Starbucks … this one with Joanne and Zoe, who both appear to be in a trance, people watching out of the cafe window. The square and coffee shop first appeared here in Thursdays sketch: https://edinburghsketcher.com/2011/08/25/old-and-new/
Here is the final version of my illustration of my gorgeous twins, Zoe and James, aged around four months.
I left it in black and white, just using a black fine pen. It will look lovely in the bright yellow frame I picked up today in Habitat at the West end. The shop is closing down so has some great offers on at the moment.
Today I worked on this, a pen portrait of my wee twins, Zoe and James. I’m almost finished and pretty pleased. It is always hard to put the pen down and admit you have finished though, often resulting in going too far and over working a drawing.
I thought I would share this quick photo of the sketch and the photograph, but will scan the finished portrait tomorrow.
Night night for now sketch fans!
After an early awakening at 4am the babies slept till 7.30 this morning. After another feed and a costume change this sketch finds them lying on their mat playing together. ~Now for my breakfast! And then out into the sunshine I think, what is everyone up to today in this glorious city?
