Details from the sea

Whilst on a lovely afternoon walk along Newhaven’s Pier Place yesterday afternoon I noticed these beautiful shells clinging on to the Old St Andrews Church exterior. Over two doorways thick stone arches protrude from the wall, each with a cluster of shells and seaweed shapes at their base.

Another example of some stunning detailing which can go unnoticed for years and then surprise you. What examples have you noticed recently? I’d love to hear about others around the city.

The former Church is now home to the very popular Alien Rock, Scotlands first dedicated indoor climing arena. For more information on Alien Rock click HERE.
