Today’s sketch is another from this year’s Edinburgh International Festival. After yesterday’s Eh Joe sketch, ‘Embers’, which opens tonight at the King’s Theatre is another dark and thoughtful piece by Samuel Beckett.
The central skull structure, sketched above, was sculpted by Andrew Clancy and combined with stunning lighting and atmospheric sounds make for an eerie and intense performance that will last in the viewers memory for some time.
The text above is an extract from the play, and reads: ‘silence in the house, not a sound, only the fire, no flames now, embers. Embers.’
